NEBOSH Courses: the International Qualifications

International qualifications recognised across the Gulf, the UK and beyond — from the baseline HSW to the IGC, the sector certificates and the advanced Diploma.

NEBOSH courses — qualifications, exams and career paths

NEBOSH is the international route, and it is the one most often asked for in the Gulf. The range starts with the HSW — the one-day baseline — and climbs to the IGC, the qualification that keeps you competitive for HSE officer and supervisor posts worldwide. Above that sit the sector certificates (construction, oil and gas, process safety, fire, environment), the incident investigation certificate, Leadership Excellence for the top of the organisation, and the advanced International Diploma for senior and specialist roles. Every NEBOSH page on this site carries the unit-by-unit syllabus, the exact exam format, the pass mark, preparation tips and the career path the qualification opens.

Every course page on this branch follows the same structure on purpose: the syllabus module by module, the exact exam format and pass mark, the duration and delivery, the preparation tips that come from real candidates, and the career path the qualification opens. That is how you compare qualifications honestly — on what they actually contain, not on how well they are marketed.

Course information on this site is educational. Batch schedules, fees and enrolment run through the official programme — one conversation gets you a written quote, the exam slot and a study plan.

The NEBOSH is the international qualification — the one recognised across the Gulf, the UK, and the international contract. The route is the baseline HSW for the entry, the IGC for the general certificate, the sector certificates (the Construction, the Oil & Gas, the Fire, the Environmental, the Process Safety), the advanced Diploma for the specialist, and the Leadership Excellence for the senior professional.

The IGC is the working certificate of the sector: the three elements, the multiple choice, the case study, the 80 per cent pass. The Oil & Gas certificate is the sector credential for the field; the Construction certificate is the UK-plus-international construction route; the Fire certificate is the fire risk assessment credential. Each course page carries the syllabus, the exam, the duration, the pass mark, and the next step.

The NEBOSH is the qualification the Gulf interview asks for first, and the one the UK employer accepts as the international standard. The course information is here; the enrolment and the preparation run through umer-hse.pro.

NEBOSH IGC: the Full Form, and What It Covers

The full form of NEBOSH IGC is the NEBOSH International General Certificate in occupational health and safety — the international working certificate of the sector. It runs on three elements: the IGC 1 multiple choice (the regulation and the system), the IGC 2 multiple choice (the hazards and the controls), and the IGC 3 case study (the judgement on a real scenario). Each element is passed at the 80 per cent mark, and the certificate is the one the Gulf interview asks for first and the UK employer accepts as the international standard. The full guide — the syllabus, the weight, the cost, the study method and the mistakes that make the retake — is in the blog: What is NEBOSH IGC?

NEBOSH Oil & Gas Certificate: the Sector Credential

The NEBOSH Oil & Gas certificate is the sector credential for the field — the five-day course that runs the offshore and the upstream hazards: the H2S, the process safety, the permit culture, the working at height, the pressure. It sits on top of the IGC (or the equivalent) and is the course the operator asks for on the rig and the terminal. The course page carries the syllabus, the exam, the duration and the route — and the full NEBOSH family, from the HSW baseline to the IDip, is on this page.
